About This Event
This Jane’s Walk, taking place in Sweet Auburn Historic District, focuses on themes of Art & Architecture, History & Culture.
Join us for a free Type Walk of Historic Auburn Avenue in the Sweet Auburn neighborhood of Atlanta, GA. Led by design enthusiast Sue Youngblood, this engaging exploration will uncover Atlanta’s significant past. Discover the powerful stories revealed by letterforms and graphics found along one of Atlanta's most historic streets. This walk highlights the narrative told by letterforms seen on plaques, cornerstones, building signage, street signs, and graffiti. Coupled with research on design, people, and places, you will learn about members of the Black Atlanta community who came together to combat segregation and drive change in the world.
