About This Event

This Jane’s Walk, taking place in Downtown Atlanta, focuses on themes of Art & Architecture and History & Culture.

Explore the vibrant intersection of art and architecture in Downtown Atlanta!

Join us for Cultural Canvas, an engaging arts and architecture tour that begins in the business district of Downtown and winds toward South Downtown. Along the way, you’ll encounter captivating sculptures, murals, and temporary works of art that bring the city’s streets to life.

Leading the tour is Jessyca Holland, from the Atlanta Department of City Planning, who will share insights on city planning, historic preservation, and how public art enhances urban spaces.

Some of the amazing works we’ll explore include Five Points Monument by George Basley at Woodruff Park, the South Broad St. Art Murals, Gallery 72, and more. About Walk Leaders, Jessyca Holland & Robert Witherspoon

Jessyca Holland is a key member of the Office of Design at the Atlanta Department of City Planning, where she focuses on engaging the public in the city’s work related to urban design, city planning, historic preservation, and public spaces. In her role, Jessyca plans events that foster discussions around design and the built environment, aiming to uplift the quality of life for both Atlantans and visitors. A strong advocate for the power of art and architecture, she believes that these elements serve as a framework for discovery and dialogue. Jessyca is passionate about promoting “eyes on the street,” the public realm, and the value of walking as a means of creating moments of serendipity and connection in the city.

Robert Witherspoon is the Arts Program Manager for the Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs. Robert planned the route to experience the city's art collection downtown. As an entity that curates art in the public realm, the Jane's Walk will allow us to bring awareness of these urban assets. Public art evokes emotions that honor our collective identity, and it reflects the hopes and aspirations of the city's residents. The Office of Cultural Affairs and the Department of City Planning believe that a great city weaves art into the design of public spaces for all to reflect upon and enjoy.
