In-person at MODA
About This Event
Sundays are fun days, so MODA’s throwing a party on the plaza every second Sunday of the month!
Join us for a Spooky Sunday Funday on October 13th from 1-5 pm! We’re inviting all the ghouls, fairies, princesses, and superheroes to join us on the plaza to design and paint your own Halloween mask! We will provide all the materials you need, including one white mask per person and paint markers. Costumes are also encouraged, but not required!
We will also have special guests, MARTA Artbound Artists in Residence Mira Kaufman and Owen Rohm, joining us on the plaza for a special interactive activity. They will be guiding guests in a MARTA-themed tote printing workshop, where participants can create their own custom tote designs using CNC cut wood blocks that have a geometric subway motif design. Mira and Owen will provide all the materials you need, and you’ll leave with your own one of a kind MARTA-themed tote bag!
Not feeling too Spooky? You can still enjoy the fun!
🎶 Dance the afternoon away with music from The Human DJ
🍧 Cool down with Glaciers Italian Ice
☀️ Grab a wand and fill the sky with bubbles!
💡Get creative by building with Imagination Playground.
All events on the plaza are free. Entrance to MODA’s current exhibition, CHARACTERS: Type in Action requires a ticket. Admission is $5 from 12-5 pm during Sunday Funday events only.
This program is supported by Midtown Alliance and WM Events.

Mira and Owen are exploring the essence of the MARTA Artbound experience as the foundation for a series of 3D art pieces. They're considering elements like the train car, station, and rider as potential focal points. Their vision includes creating interactive collectibles that, when combined, offer a unique narrative or visual representation of MARTA Artbound. Ideas range from connectable train car models to RFID-enabled pieces that interact with station kiosks, unveiling art drops, data visualizations, or stories in comic strip formats. They also plan to integrate a scavenger hunt with the collectibles, enhancing engagement and exploration.
