About This Event

Get ready to empower your inner artist and activist! Paint Love x MODA’s Art + Awareness workshop series explores ways we can create art inspired by the Civil Rights Movement in order to create a more just and equitable world.

Families are invited to join us on Saturday, October 19, for curtain-up with theater artist Nora Frankovich! We'll use the power of the written word while looking at examples from the work of James Baldwin and Maya Angelou to explore the social shifts that sparked new ideas, discussions, and creativity.

This workshop connects to the themes and topics in MODA’s fall exhibit CHARACTERS: Type in Action, illustrating the impact of typography on social justice, its history, and its role in today’s movements.

Please note: Parents/Caregivers must attend and participate with children. Appropriate for children 6 years of age and older.
