Lego Studio: Haunted Houses

Virtual | Ages 8 – 14

Join MODA for a virtual Afterschool Studio and embark on an out-of-this-world adventure as you design and build your very own haunted house...out of LEGO!

Catapult your imagination into the world of spooky stories and chilling sights as you design and build a house of fright. Create thrilling stories and exhilarating attractions, all in a spooky setting.

In This Afterschool Studio, you will:

  • delve into the world of Halloween-themed design and uncover the principles that make for an awe-inspiring experience

  • use concepts from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to design and construct hair raising details, props for a scary story, and more

  • discuss theme design and how it can be incorporated into LEGO builds

  • practice collaboration, inclusivity, creative courage, imaginative problem-solving, storytelling, and critical thinking

  • explore careers in architectural design and world development

  • practice giving and receiving kind and constructive feedback

At the end of the studio, participants will have created their own unique LEGO haunted house to share with others!

Requirements:

  • Computer or tablet with a reliable connection to the internet

  • Any LEGO you have - no specific sets or bricks are necessary

  • No LEGO? No problem! Bring any hands-on crafting or recycled materials you have or try these digital alternatives:TinkerCAD.com or MECA Bricks
