2D Animation Studio: Introduction to Storytelling

Virtual | Ages 12 – 17

Animations play an important role in how we tell and share stories. From movies like Wall-E to those like Spirited Away, animated films have a way of connecting us and helping us build community!

Bring your imagination to life in this Afterschool Studio by learning how to create 2D animations! In this class students will design their own stories, animate them, and learn how to share them with their friends and families.


Requirements:

  • A Mac or PC with a strong connection to the internet.

  • Zoom

  • Optional: Drawing tablet, but is easier to create with

Important Note: Registration for this event ends one hour before the scheduled start time. The Zoom link will be emailed to all participants 30 minutes before the studio begins. If you have trouble logging in, please reach out directly to the educator at blaire@museumofdesign.org.

  • Blaire’s passion for teaching started in 2013 while teaching for Georgia Tech's Institute for Computing Education (ICE), and We Game To Please, an after school robotics class. She holds a degree in History with a minor in Computer Science from the College of Wooster and a master's degree in History from GSU. She is currently a Ph.D. student in Digital Media at Georgia Tech.

  • This event is virtual and will be held over Zoom; participants will receive a link prior to the start of the workshop. If you do not see the link in your inbox, please email blaire@museumofdesign.org.

  • MODA reserves the right to cancel a program if the minimum enrollment requirements are not met, but don't worry: should MODA have to cancel, we will gladly issue a full refund to all registrants (if applicable). If you need to cancel your plans for any reason, we kindly request that you notify us at least 7 days prior to the event start.

  • Designers with different styles of learning or special needs are welcome in MODA public programs. We will be able to most effectively help everyone learn and enjoy this experience if we know about those needs in advance of the program.
