About This Camp
Ever wondered how the past can shape the future? Design ATL: Old Made New invites you to reimagine the past to create a bold new future. This summer camp is perfect for teens who love to look at old buildings and see endless possibilities. Learn how to repurpose existing structures into vibrant, innovative spaces that connect the past with modern needs.
From abandoned warehouses to historic storefronts, you’ll explore how imaginative design can breathe new life into spaces that have lost their purpose. Through hands-on projects, collaboration, and creative problem-solving, you'll discover how to blend history with innovation to create something entirely new—and entirely yours.
If you're excited by the idea of turning the past into something extraordinary, and you're ready to imagine how design can reshape the world around us, Design ATL: Old Made New is your place to start!
Campers will learn to:
Discover the principles and benefits of adaptive reuse, including sustainability, historical preservation, and creative problem-solving.
Take on real-world challenges that involve repurposing existing structures.
Develop concepts for turning old factories, schools, and warehouses into new community spaces, offices, or residential areas.
Work with fellow campers on to design a creative adaptive reuse.
At the end of the week, parents and caregivers are invited for a showcase of the campers’ creations!
What to Bring:
Campers should bring a water bottle, snacks, and lunch.
