About Slothique

Slothique is a one-stop-shop animation production studio. Their services span from pre-production to post-production in 2D animation for film, television, games, and more. They employ talented artists from all walks of life to foster a community built on our belief in equal opportunity and inclusivity as a minority-owned company.

Their creative pipeline combines traditional animation programs and skills with new technology such as real-time animation and AI-generated imaging to help balance budget and workflow.

  • MEET THE TEAM

    Lisa Ferrell, Executive Producer

    Lisa Ferrell is a seasoned production professional whose background encompasses television series and film development and production/post-production for television, film, and digital content. She has also worked in series and telefilm development for companies such as CBS, Lifetime Television/Hearst Entertainment, NBC, and TBS. While at motion capture studio Giant Studios/Profile, she was involved in the post-production of films that include New Line Cinema’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy and Sony Imageworks animated holiday feature “Polar Express” directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks. She was also instrumental in creating the pilot episode for the long-running “Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” series for TBS. She is currently the Producer / Project Manager for Georgia State University’s Creative Media Industries Institute, focusing on emerging technology.

    Casandra Brewton-Johnson, Head of Production

    Casandra Brewton-Johnson is a Project Manager/Producer/Media Coordinator who has worked with local Atlanta studios such as School of Humans, Slothique, and Primal Screen. She has a BFA in Animation from Savannah College of Art & Design, an MBA in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University, and a BS in Civil Engineering from Southern University and A&M College-Baton Rouge. In addition to her role as Programming Director and Business Associate for ASIFA-South, Casandra also serves as head of the organization's Education Department, which designs and offers workshops throughout the Greater Atlanta area.

    Jeffrey Yu, Chief Executive Officer

    Jeffrey Yu is a multi-media design Telly award-winning professional with more than a decade of experience in the creative industry. He has worked on graphic novels, video games, and board games at CMON, NBC Universal syndicated real-time animated cartoons, an Indie feature film streamed on Netflix and the development of virtual reality experiences all over the United States. He also runs Slothique LLC, an animation consultation agency that houses artists and freelancers producing various animation work for studios local to Atlanta and outside the US for clients in e-learning, production house, ad agencies, film studios such as Field Media Station, Paradox House, Prodigi Arts, Moxie, Ubongo, etc He has 7 years of experience in teaching fine art to kids age group K-12 at the First Fine Art Design Academy in Johns Creek. Jeff is currently the business director at ASIFA-South. Jeff also works in VR as a technical artist at Pulseworks, creator of simulator rides with locations in the Georgia Aquarium, The Smithsonian, etc.

    Marisa (Ginger) Tontaveetong, Chief Creative Officer

    Marisa (Ginger) Tontaveetong is an Oscar-longlisted Telly award-winning multidisciplinary Creative Animation Director/ Producer. She is an art/ animation director at BWAStudios and CCO at Slothique LLC. Her work has aired on platforms such as Netflix, MAX, A&E. Formerly manager of Post Production at Trioscope Studios, some of her recent notable works include The Takeover (feature film) starring Quavo and Billy Zane, award-winning short Night of the Cooter by George R.R. Martin and Vincent D'Onofrio, and Six Degrees with Mike Rowe series (Discovery). She works in many capacities for ACM SIGGRAPH as the Early Career Development Chair, strategic advisor to the board of directors in the Nurturing committee, and served as a past SIGGRAPH ASIA 2017 Computer Animation Festival Producer.

    Min Kyung Cho, Lead Animator

    Min Kyung Cho is an animator and Storyboard Artist from South Korea with a BFA in Painting BFA from Ewha Womans University and Animation MFA at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD Atlanta). She has worked with various studios such as storyboarding and animating for the animated hybrid feature "Takeover" starring Quavo and Billy Zane for Trioscope studios and animated promo for BWAStudios for HULU's PEN15 series. Min also works for Slothique as a 2D animation assistant trainer for students at Bangkok University Creative incubator and is an onboarding coordinator for ASIFA-South International Animation Society.

  • This event is at the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA). It is conveniently located in the Midtown Arts District, right across the street from the Woodruff Arts Center at 1315 Peachtree St. NE Atlanta, GA 30309.

    MODA is located on the ground floor of the 1315 Peachtree Building. The building is a mix use site and is shared by MODA, the Peachtree Public Library, and Perkins+Will.

    MODA resides on the land of the Mvskoke (Muscogee / Creek) people.

  • MODA reserves the right to cancel a program if the minimum enrollment requirements are not met, but don't worry: should MODA have to cancel, we will gladly issue a full refund to all registrants (if applicable). If you need to cancel your plans for any reason, we kindly request that you notify us at least 7 days prior to the event start.

  • Designers with different styles of learning or special needs are welcome in MODA public programs. We will be able to most effectively help everyone learn and enjoy this experience if we know about those needs in advance of the program.
