About This Event
Join us for an afternoon of typography!
On January 19 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM, MODA is opening its doors to host AIGA's 2025 Type Fight. During the event, participants will have a few hours to capture the soul of a randomly assigned Atlanta neighborhood on an 11x17 type-based poster. On top of watching this celebration of culture and creativity, we invite you to explore MODA's current exhibition, CHARACTERS: Type in Action.
About The 2025 Type Fight
In the heart of Atlanta, where every block tells a story, AIGA Atlanta, MODA, and MODA's Designer-in-Residence David Tann invite you to join the 2025 Type Fight—a vibrant celebration of culture and creativity. This isn't just a design competition—it’s a convergence of voices, a space where students and professionals come together to honor the city's rich mosaic of neighborhoods.
Using the expressive typefaces designed by Tré Seals and Vocal Type Company, participants will have just a few hours to capture the soul of randomly assigned Atlanta neighborhoods on a 11x17 canvas. Using typography, they'll weave stories that echo the rhythms of our streets and the melodies of our shared heritage. The Type Fight is more than an event; it's a tribute to the ties that bind us, a celebration of diversity rendered in letters and lines, inviting all to witness how design can bridge divides and illuminate the cultural heartbeat that unites us.
An esteemed panel of judges and attendees will award prizes to the most artfully designed submissions!
