Prototyping Apps with Marvel and Figma

Virtual

Prototypes are a fantastic and crucial way for you to explain your concept to others, especially in areas like app or web design that can be difficult to explain. In this workshop, we’ll learn the fundamentals of prototyping with free programs like Marvel and Figma, as well as interaction methods, guidelines on structuring content, and iterative design.

What to expect:

  • A practical, hands-on guide to basic prototyping using free tools

  • Guidance on how to perform user testing and get good feedback

What to bring:

  • We recommend making accounts on Marvel and Figma before joining the workshop so you’re all squared away and ready to roll. These apps work best on a computer, but having a smartphone handy will help you test concepts and scan in your drawn prototypes.

  • Note: Marvel is more beginner-friendly, and Figma is more intermediate-friendly. Either will work for our purposes, so choose based on your comfort level!

Zoom Information:

  • The Zoom link will be emailed to all participants 30 minutes before the workshop begins. If you have trouble logging in, please reach out directly to the community coordinator for this course at maryk@museumofdesign.org.

She's a proud mother to an exceptionally good girl named Cocoa, who keeps her company at her desk, and many plants.

  • MODA reserves the right to cancel a program if the minimum enrollment requirements are not met, but don't worry: should MODA have to cancel, we will gladly issue a full refund to all registrants. If you need to cancel your plans for any reason, we kindly request that you notify us at least 7 days prior to the event start. By doing so, we can process a refund for the ticket cost (minus a small $10 processing fee per class). Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds for cancellations made less than 7 days before an event.‌

  • Designers with different styles of learning or special needs are welcome in MODA public programs. We will be able to most effectively help everyone learn and enjoy this experience if we know about those needs in advance of the program. Please email maryk@museumofdesign.org. with questions or information
