Comic Studio: Mysteries

Virtual | Ages 12 – 17

Join MODA for a virtual Afterschool Studio and dive into mystery and detective comics!

In this virtual studio, young designers will explore the art of creating suspenseful mystery plots and crafting 'whodunit' scenarios. They will look into the process of developing detective characters, focusing on their unique investigative methods and personalities. They will then use their plots and characters to introduce their comic storylines in MediBang Paint.

In This Afterschool Studio, students will . . .

  • Practice making suspenseful and engaging mystery plots for comic storytelling.

  • Create detective characters and their narratives.

  • Transform ideas from sketches to digital art.

  • Practice narrative pacing and visual storytelling.

  • Provide a space to share and provide constructive feedback

  • Practice collaboration, inclusivity, creative courage, imaginative problem-solving, storytelling, and critical thinking

Requirements:

  • A computer or tablet with internet access

  • Zoom

  • MediBang Paint Pro software pre-installed (it’s free!)

A digital drawing tablet is optional, but it makes for easier creating
