Minecraft Studio: Roller Coasters in Space!

Virtual | Ages 8-14

Join MODA for a virtual Afterschool Studio and embark on an out-of-this-world adventure as you build roller coasters in space!

Catapult your imagination into the cosmos of Minecraft as you design and build an amusement park set amidst the stars. Create thrilling thrilling rides and attractions in an extraterrestrial setting.

Please note that this is a creative building class and that Player versus Player (PvP) activity is not allowed.

In this Afterschool Studio, you’ll . . .

  • Delve into the world of amusement park design and uncover the principles that make for an awe-inspiring galactic experience

  • Use concepts from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to design and construct zero-gravity roller coasters, cosmic water slides, and more

  • Discuss sustainability and how it can be incorporated into amusement park design

  • Practice collaboration, inclusivity, creative courage, imaginative problem-solving, storytelling, and critical thinking

  • Explore careers in game design and virtual world development

At the end of the studio, participants will have created their own unique Minecraft amusement park to share with others!

Requirements:

  • A computer with a steady Internet connection.

  • Access to Minecraft Java Edition for PC/Mac to access MODA’s private Minecraft server where creative building takes place. Other versions of Minecraft and Minecraft on tablets and phones will not work.

Registration Fee: Registration for this Afterschool Studio is free, but space is limited — save your young designer’s seat by clicking the link below!
