Virtual | Ages 8-14
Join MODA for a virtual Afterschool Studio and embark on an exciting journey of creativity, design, and STEM exploration in the world of Minecraft Amusement Parks!
In this virtual studio, young designers will dive into the realm of Minecraft, the popular sandbox game, to imagine, design, and construct their very own virtual amusement parks. Through a combination of interactive lessons and collaborative projects, participants will be guided through the process of designing and building a variety of thrilling rides, attractions, and engaging spaces within MODA’s very own private Minecraft Server.
Please note that this is a creative building class and that Player versus Player (PvP) activity is not allowed.
In this Afterschool Studio, you’ll . . .
Learn about amusement park design. What makes a park fun and engaging for its visitors?
Apply STEM concepts and use Redstone to power roller coasters, water slides, and more
Discuss sustainability and how it can be incorporated into amusement park design
Practice collaboration, inclusivity, creative courage, imaginative problem-solving, storytelling, and critical thinking
Explore careers in game design and virtual world development
At the end of the studio, participants will have created their own unique Minecraft amusement park to share with others!
Requirements:
A computer with a steady Internet connection.
Access to Minecraft Java Edition for PC/Mac to access MODA’s private Minecraft server where creative building takes place. Other versions of Minecraft and Minecraft on tablets and phones will not work.
Registration Fee: Registration for this Afterschool Studio is free, but space is limited — save your young designer’s seat by clicking the link below!
