Virtual | Ages 8-13
Join MODA for a virtual Afterschool Studio in which you’ll design and code your own video game!
Tap into your creativity and design a compelling and challenging maze game full of twists and turns that bamboozle players and make things fun!
You’ll also learn about career opportunities in the gaming industry as you design a game of your own and share it with other studio participants. You’ll get to play the games they create, as well!
This Afterschool Studio:
Introduces Scratch, a free game design platform that you can keep using after the studio ends
Strengthens creativity
Builds resilience
Strengthens critical thinking skills
Introduces careers in the game industry
Strengthens critical thinking skills
Introduces STEAM and game careers
Requirements:
Requires a computer or tablet with strong internet access, and a free account on Scratch.

Blaire’s passion for teaching started in 2013 while teaching for Georgia Tech's Institute for Computing Education (ICE), and We Game To Please, an after school robotics class. She holds a degree in History with a minor in Computer Science from the College of Wooster and a master's degree in History from GSU. She is currently a Ph.D. student in Digital Media at Georgia Tech.

If you need to cancel your plans for any reason, we kindly request that you notify us at least 7 days prior to the event start.

Designers with different styles of learning or special needs are welcome in MODA public programs. We will be able to most effectively help everyone learn and enjoy this experience if we know about those needs in advance of the program.
