CLIMATE CHANGE: LIVING WITH NATURE
For Grades 4 - 12
Nature is a mighty force and it has a big impact on where we live and what kind of shelter we need.
In this in-museum field trip, students will explore relationships between design and forces of nature through examples of architecture from MODA’s current and past exhibitions. We’ll talk about how wind, rain, heat, cold, and other conditions affect our shelter needs. Then, we’ll get busy designing buildings that work with nature and our changing climate.
We’ll create virtual prototypes of the homes we design using familiar tools like LEGO, K’Nex, crafting materials, and/or Tinkercad, a free Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
