On View at MODA

MODA features one exhibition at a time and does not have a permanent collection.
Read about our current exhibition below:

Al Dente: The Design of Pasta explores the Italian culinary innovation of pasta, likened by food historians to a cultural renaissance, and inspects how making, cooking, and eating pasta serve as acts of design.

The exhibition explores the history of pasta, examines traditional tools used to craft pasta by hand, and demonstrates the impact of industrialization which introduced new shapes like penne and radiator.

It also looks to the future, asking whether it is possible to design an entirely new pasta shape in the 21st century, how technological advances are impacting pasta, and how we can document and preserve traditional pasta-making processes.
