Celebrate Design!
Dear Friend:
According to educator E. Christopher Mare, "design is the imagining and bringing forth of new worlds." As the Southeast's only museum dedicated solely to the impact of the design disciplines on the everyday lives of the community, The Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) affords Atlanta the opportunity to make that concept a reality.
This year alone, MODA has explored the whimsy of the socio-economic impact of ladies handbags with In the Bag, the provocative use of poster art in The Graphic Imperative, and the impact of a 20th Century design master with Marcel Breuer: Design & Architecture. We're putting the finishing touches on two upcoming exhibitions. LoveNests: Photographs and Objects and ATLANTA: Beyond Bricks and Sticks, a traveling multi-media experience that highlights Atlanta's achievements in the "green building" movement. We have also begun planning Camp MODA 2010 as a fun and exciting means to bring design to our younger constituents.
To continue this work into 2010, we need the financial help of our many advocates. In the coming months, MODA plans to present a diverse array of exhibitions and events including:
- Atlanta: Beyond Bricks and Sticks, Beginning February 2010
- Love Nests: Photographs and Objects, February-July 2010
- Moon River: An Evening with Johnny Mercer, March 5, 2010
- Contemporary Ichiyo Ikebana, September 2010
- SpeedDream, October-December 2010
Your donations ensure that our future programs and visionary exhibitions become a reality. Help us make a difference in the way people appreciate and celebrate design as we plan for the future.
With your generous contribution MODA will continue using design as an instrument to educate and inspire our community. To make things easy for you, we are offering you three options for sustaining our work:
